Busan City Recruiting Participants for Summer Vacation 'Media Overdependence Healing Camp'
Reducing Adolescent Media Overdependence
Forming Proper Usage Habits
Busan City will operate a summer vacation media overdependence healing camp for female middle school students who are experiencing difficulties in daily life due to overdependence on media (internet and smartphones) from July 15 to 26, and will recruit participants until July 3.
The ‘Media Overdependence Healing Camp’ is part of the ‘Youth Internet and Smartphone Overdependence Healing Service’ project and has been operated annually since 2015 by the Busan Youth Counseling and Welfare Center (Director Baek Jin-young).
Under the theme of ‘Using Smart Media Smartly,’ the camp will recruit a total of 24 participants. Customized services aimed at controlling internet and smartphone use and managing a regular lifestyle will be provided to participating youths and their guardians, including psychological tests, individual and group counseling, various experiential and alternative activities, parent education, and family counseling.
Additionally, after the camp ends, follow-up support such as post-meetings, group counseling, and parent education will be provided for up to three months to ensure the lasting effect of the overdependence healing.
Youths wishing to participate can apply through the Busan Youth Counseling and Welfare Center website, by phone, or via the youth hotline.
