Drug Offender Who Escaped During Suspension of Detention Execution Amid Father's Death Condolences Arrested
A drug offender who escaped during a temporary release granted due to his father's death was apprehended by the police.
According to the police on the 22nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit arrested a man in his 50s, identified as A, who had fled in Osan City, Gyeonggi Province, around 1:42 p.m. the previous day while on temporary release due to suspension of detention execution.
A was undergoing trial on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act when he suffered the loss of his father. The court suspended the execution of his detention from the 25th of last month until 5 p.m. on the 27th to allow him to attend the funeral. However, A, who was temporarily released to attend the funeral, disappeared after the suspension period expired.
Accordingly, the prosecution issued a warrant for A, who fled during the suspension of detention execution, and began efforts to apprehend him.
The police discovered and urgently arrested A while tracking and arresting another drug dealer, B.
