Hampyeong-gun Takes Active Steps to Eradicate 'Corruption and Public Interest Violations'
Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, has taken the lead in eradicating corruption and public interest violations among public officials.
On the 21st, according to the county, promotional materials containing information on corruption and public interest reporting procedures, as well as whistleblower protection and reward systems, were posted on the county office website and official SNS (blog) accounts.
The reporting areas cover all corruption and public interest violations by public officials, including ▲ acts where public officials abuse their position or authority or violate laws to seek benefits related to their duties ▲ acts causing financial damage to public institutions during budget execution, asset management, or contract processes ▲ acts of coercion, recommendation, inducement, or concealment of the above ▲ acts infringing on public interest (acts subject to penalties or administrative sanctions under laws related to public interest reporting).
Anyone, including insiders within the public office, can make a report.
A county official stated, “No disadvantage should occur as a result of reporting, so we will focus on strict confidentiality and protection of whistleblowers,” and added, “We ask for the active participation of residents in corruption and public interest reporting to protect the public interest and eradicate corruption.”
