Hyundai Department Store and Seoul Tourism Foundation Sign MOU for Seoul Festival Revitalization and Mutual Development
Promotion of mutual cooperation including joint marketing to revitalize festivals
Hyundai Department Store announced on the 21st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seoul Tourism Foundation for the "activation and mutual development of Seoul festivals." In this regard, the signing ceremony held on the afternoon of the 20th at Hyundai Department Store Mia Branch in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, was attended by Jung Ji-young, Vice President of Hyundai Department Store, and Gil Ki-yeon, CEO of the Seoul Tourism Foundation.

View original imageWith this agreement, both parties have decided to promote mutual cooperation such as joint marketing to revitalize festivals hosted by the Seoul Tourism Foundation. Hyundai Department Store and the Seoul Tourism Foundation will expand their collaborative exhibition for the "Seoul Lantern Festival." Since its inception in 2009, the Seoul Lantern Festival is a large-scale event featuring various large lantern sculptures illuminated with lights, attracting 1.3 million visitors annually and representing one of Seoul’s major festivals.
The Seoul Tourism Foundation held a collaborative exhibition titled "See You Again, Lantern" at Hyundai Department Store Mia Branch for 27 days from April 18 to May 14. During the event, 200,000 people visited the exhibition, demonstrating the potential for business collaboration with Hyundai Department Store.
Both parties plan to create a pilot "urban summer retreat" at Gwanghwamun Square, providing a space where citizens and tourists can rest during the summer heat.
