Semiconductor Company 'StatsChipPack Korea' Conducts Job Interviews for 18 Youngjin University Students
Yeungjin College, the only institution in Daegu and Gyeongbuk specialized colleges selected for the Ministry of Education’s ‘Advanced Field Innovation Convergence University’ project, is showing rapid progress related to the ‘Semiconductor Materials, Parts, and Equipment (SoBuJang)’ project.
On the 5th, Yeungjin College’s Semiconductor Electronics Department, selected in the ‘Semiconductor SoBuJang’ field of the ‘Advanced Field Innovation Convergence University (hereafter ‘COSS’, Convergence and Open Sharing System)’ project announced by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, quickly began cooperation with Stats ChipPAC Korea, a participating company in this project.

The company has continued its partnership with the Semiconductor Electronics Department since 2016 through a social customized department operation agreement, running a social customized class, and has also joined the ‘Semiconductor SoBuJang’ field of the ‘Advanced Field Innovation Convergence University’ project, maintaining a mutually growing industry-academia relationship.
The Semiconductor Electronics Department is already nationally renowned as a cradle for producing excellent talent specialized in the semiconductor field. In 2004, it signed a customized education agreement with SK Hynix, focusing on training maintenance personnel specialized in semiconductor process equipment.
In particular, the department received equipment such as sputter, stepper, and etcher?necessary for semiconductor unit processes?from SK Hynix and conducts experiential practical training similar to industrial sites.
The curriculum includes courses ordered by semiconductor companies such as plasma engineering, sensor engineering, and semiconductor package engineering practice, taught by full-time faculty members from major companies like Samsung Electronics, LG, and SK Hynix, further accelerating the production of industry-tailored talent.
Thanks to these specialization efforts, nearly 500 students have been employed by SK Hynix up to last year, and in the past five years (2019?2023 graduates), 69, 127, and 158 graduates respectively have been employed by the Big 3 conglomerates’ affiliates Samsung, SK, and LG, showing remarkable progress.
The Semiconductor Electronics Department operates a convergence education curriculum specialized in semiconductor front and back-end processes and equipment maintenance, centered on the on-campus semiconductor innovation convergence project group related to COSS, establishing a digital advanced semiconductor practice lab and reorganizing the existing semiconductor process technology center.
Since the 2023 academic year, the department has operated subdivided semiconductor education courses including Semiconductor Display, Semiconductor Systems, Semiconductor Convergence Electronics, Eco-friendly Battery Chemical Materials, and Future Automotive Electronics, accelerating talent development in advanced fields such as semiconductors for electric vehicles and electronic devices, memory semiconductors, system semiconductors, power semiconductors, comprehensive semiconductor industry, semiconductor post-process industry, solar cells, and display (LCD, OLED) industry manufacturing, processes, and equipment technology.
