Dongdaemun-gu Veterans Association Holds ‘Memorial Ceremony for the 16 Patriots Who Died in the Korean War’ at Jangryeongdang Park in Dapsimni-dong on the Morning of the 16th

View original imageDongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced that at 10 a.m. on the 16th, the Dongdaemun-gu Veterans Association (President Jang Young-se) held the ‘Memorial Ceremony for the 16 Patriots Who Died in the Korean War’ at Jangryeongdang Park in Dapsimni-dong.
The Memorial Monument for the 16 Patriots Who Died in the Korean War was established in 1988 as a national memorial facility to honor the spirits of 16 individuals who voluntarily organized and operated a death squad during the Korean War and died in the line of duty. The Dongdaemun-gu Veterans Association regularly manages the monument every month.
At the memorial ceremony for the 16 patriots, Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, Lee Tae-in, Chairperson of the Dongdaemun-gu Council, Jang Young-se, President of the Dongdaemun-gu Veterans Association, Kim Seong-man, President of the Korean War Veterans Association, and about 50 members of Dongdaemun-gu’s veterans and patriotic organizations attended to pay tribute to the spirits of the 16 patriots.
