Suwon City Accelerates AI Ecosystem Development Project... Selected as Government Demand Agency
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province has been selected as a demand institution for the 'AI Ecosystem Construction Project' by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Presidential Commission on the Digital Platform Government.
The AI Ecosystem Construction Project is a government-funded initiative that allows selected demand institutions to use services based on a hyper-large AI platform (API, usage environment) provided by AI supply companies such as Naver, KT, Vibe Company, and MaumAI without charge. Suwon can use this service with an annual budget of 1.38 billion KRW.
In April, Suwon conducted a ChatGPT workshop for 459 public officials, where they discovered a total of 29 ideas for improving internal work and civil service, including ▲ AI assistant for welfare systems ▲ AI helper for work handover ▲ Smart economic news delivered by GPT ▲ AI legal consultation ▲ AI support for apartment complex management.
Based on the AI utilization ideas discovered, Suwon plans to build the 'Suwon-type hyper-large AI-based document utilization platform' by leveraging various AI services from supply companies.
The Suwon-type hyper-large AI-based document utilization platform collects and learns data from Suwon's internal emails and electronic files (such as laws) to provide AI-based services that can be expanded in various ways, including intelligent search and document summarization services.
Suwon will receive customized consulting through supply companies and step-by-step education on AI model establishment, conceptual practice, and utilization methods.

A Suwon city official stated, "We will lead the use of domestic hyper-large artificial intelligence to discover public innovation services," adding, "We will support rapid decision-making, innovate work methods, and lay the foundation for building a hyper-large AI platform in 2024."
