Suwon-si to Inspect Funeral Hall Operations Until the 16th
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a comprehensive inspection of funeral homes to promote a healthy and hygienic funeral culture.
On the 15th, Suwon City announced that public officials will visit and inspect eight funeral homes within the jurisdiction by the 16th.
The inspection of funeral homes is conducted in accordance with the 'Act on Funeral Services, etc.' and focuses on safety management, health and hygiene, and operational status of the funeral homes.
The main inspection items include ▲whether prices for funeral supplies are posted by item ▲presence of unfair transactions such as forced sales of funeral supplies ▲compliance with hygiene management standards for facilities used to store bodies ▲whether funeral home employees have completed training, among others.
Along with facility inspections, related documents will also be reviewed. Minor issues will be corrected immediately on-site, while serious violations will be subject to administrative measures.

A Suwon city official stated, "We will ensure that citizens holding funerals in Suwon receive transparent and hygienic funeral services," adding, "We will do our best to foster a healthy and hygienic funeral culture."
