25 Members Formed, Serving as a Bridge Between the National Integration Committee and Regions
Ulsan City, City Council, and National Integration Committee Sign Business Agreement
The presidential direct-affiliated ‘National Integration Committee Ulsan Regional Council’ is being launched.
Ulsan City announced that on the 15th at 10:40 a.m., a launching ceremony will be held in the city hall’s main conference room, attended by Kim Doo-gyeom, Mayor of Ulsan, Kim Ki-hwan, Chairman of the Ulsan City Council, Kim Han-gil, Chairman of the National Integration Committee, and about 30 members of the National Integration Committee Ulsan Regional Council.
The event will proceed with the signing of a business agreement, appointment of regional council members, and the first meeting of the regional council.
The ‘Business Agreement for Healing Social Conflicts and Promoting National Integration’ will be signed among Ulsan City, the National Integration Committee, and the Ulsan City Council.
According to the agreement, the three organizations will cooperate on ▲enacting ordinances and regulations to promote national integration ▲forming a consensus on national integration, spreading culture, education, investigation, and research ▲activating communication between central and local governments, regional civil society, and the public sector.
At the first meeting of the Ulsan Regional Council, key local issues of Ulsan such as improvement of the development restriction zone system, establishment of a nuclear safety grant tax, and promotion of a differentiated electricity rate system by region will be discussed as the first agenda items.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom said, “Resolving conflicts arising from regional disparities is the top priority of the National Integration Committee,” and added, “We hope for continuous interest and support from the central government and the Integration Committee for solving the city’s current issues to relieve residents’ inconveniences, urban growth, and balanced development.”

The National Integration Committee Ulsan Regional Council consists of a total of 25 members, including one ex officio member (Ulsan City Deputy Mayor) and 24 appointed members, serving as a bridge between the National Integration Committee and Ulsan City.
