Festival of Music and Sharing at Suguksa Temple at 7 PM on the 17th
Popular Singers Chita, Yoon Sung, and Others to Perform
A festival blending sharing and music will take place at Suguksa, a traditional temple located in the heart of Seoul.
Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that the '9th Suguksa Sharing Song' will be held at 7 PM on the 17th at the traditional temple Suguksa.
Organized by Suguksa of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and sponsored by Eunpyeong-gu, this festival will be held on a special stage set up within the Suguksa temple grounds. The event will feature Buddhist music, traditional Korean music (gugak), popular singer performances, and sharing activities, open to all local residents.
First, a compassionate sharing event will take place. Suguksa plans to donate 6 million won to the Eunpyeong-gu Citizens Scholarship Foundation, which supports scholarship programs for local students, and 4 million won to the Gusan-dong Community Center as a contribution to help vulnerable groups in the area.
Following this, a concert will be held featuring various performances including the Suguksa Choir, Sangwol Youth Choir, musicals, and b-boy dance. The closing performance will be spectacularly decorated by popular singers such as Chita and Yoon Sung, illuminating Suguksa’s summer night.
Suguksa holds an annual event themed 'Sharing Song,' combining a mountain temple concert with sharing activities. Last year’s festival attracted a crowd of about 1,000 local residents and was a great success.
