Krafton Establishes AI Gaming Subsidiary... "Innovating Games with Deep Learning"
On the 14th, Krafton announced that it established a new independent studio, ReLU Games, on the 1st of this month.
Kim Min-jung, who has been overseeing Krafton's Special Project 2, was appointed as the CEO of the new studio. ReLU Games will be Krafton's eleventh independent studio and will focus on game development utilizing deep learning technology.
ReLU Games integrates deep learning technology with the fun of games pursued by the in-house incubating program 'Special Project 2,' which Krafton started in 2020. The studio plans to apply the deep learning game development experience and ideas accumulated over the past three years of operating Special Project 2 to new game development.
The first project is "FOONDA: AI Puzzle." The goal is for deep learning to generate puzzle stages, providing users with a highly personalized puzzle experience. The mobile version of "FOONDA: AI Puzzle" is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2023. Additionally, projects exploring game enjoyment through deep learning, such as Project Orchestra using voice recognition, are underway.
