"Why Are You Using My Shampoo?" Marine Rolls Naked Junior Left and Right
6 Months Imprisonment, 2 Years Probation, 80 Hours Community Service
"Shows Attitude of Admitting Crime and Reflecting," Court Rules
A senior Marine who committed abuse against a junior Marine in a Marine Corps unit shower room was found guilty.
According to Yonhap News on the 13th, Judge Hyun Sun-hye of the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 10 sentenced A (22), who was indicted on charges including abuse through the use of power, to six months in prison with a two-year probation and ordered 80 hours of community service.
A was tried on charges of verbally and physically abusing junior Marine B (21) at a unit in Yangnam-myeon, Gyeongju, from February to August 2021.
A was also accused of stealing combat uniforms and cigarettes from the lockers of junior Marines, including B.
In addition, A grabbed both of B's cheeks and pushed him against a wall because B repeatedly sang the wrong military songs and missed the draft broadcast.
Furthermore, in the shower room, A forced B, who was naked, to lie on the floor and made him perform the so-called "rolling left and right" about ten times, claiming B had used his shampoo.
He also threatened B, saying, "If you report this to the officers and I get transferred to another unit, I will break all your fingers."
Judge Hyun stated, "Considering the nature of the defendant's crimes, the offense is serious," but added, "He admitted to some of the offenses and showed remorse."
