Suncheon-si Selected as Best Institution in Comprehensive Evaluation of Proactive Administration
Top Agency for Proactive Administration, Awarded Minister of the Interior and Safety Prize
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 13th that it was selected as the best institution in the 2022 Comprehensive Evaluation of Proactive Administration hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving the Minister of the Interior and Safety’s Institutional Commendation and securing special grant funds.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety conducted a comprehensive evaluation of 243 local governments nationwide based on five criteria: ▲establishment of proactive administration implementation plans ▲efforts to promote proactive administration ▲performance outcomes ▲public perception, and selected the top four institutions among metropolitan and basic local governments.
In particular, the city won the Excellence Award and Encouragement Award at the 2022 Proactive Administration Best Practices Competition held in the first and second halves of the year.
It was also reported that the city received favorable evaluations for its institutional efforts to promote proactive administration, including resolving civil complaints that had been neglected for 50 years, improving the real-time civil complaint processing system using KakaoTalk, and various proactive administration training programs.
Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu of Suncheon said, “The transformation of a city is created together by leaders who understand the times, wise public officials, and dignified citizens,” adding, “We will continue to change the city’s structure through proactive administration, present a new milestone for the city’s future direction, and build a hub city for the South Coast Belt through regional solidarity.”
