The police rescued a woman in her 20s who was attempting an extreme act while broadcasting live on social media through swift action.
According to a comprehensive report by Asia Economy on the 12th, the Gangseo Police Station rescued Ms. A, a woman in her 20s who was attempting an extreme act while live streaming on social media, around midnight on the 10th and arranged for emergency hospitalization.
The police received a report at 12:09 a.m. on the 10th from a social media user watching the live broadcast, who informed the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency that "a woman in an apartment complex in Gangseo-gu is attempting an extreme act." The police then dispatched officers and rescued Ms. A around 12:30 a.m. the same day.
The locations where Ms. A was presumed to be were in different buildings within the complex, and the police responded to both complexes to search for her. When the police sounded a siren in one complex and the same sound was heard on the live broadcast, they identified Ms. A’s location and proceeded with the rescue.
Although a rescue request had been made to the nearby fire station, due to the urgent situation, the police took the opportunity to directly rescue Ms. A.
A police official stated, "Ms. A, who was rescued, was placed under emergency hospitalization at a hospital."
