Nutrition Table Tennis Players Join Forces to Support 'Yangsu Power Plant Attraction'!
Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held a resolution rally on the 8th at the Yeongyang-gun Complex Sports Center, where table tennis players from Yeongyang gathered to support the attraction of a pumped-storage power plant to Yeongyang-gun.

View original imageThis event was organized mainly by members of the Yeongyang-gun Table Tennis Association, who hope to attract the long-awaited pumped-storage power project while hosting the 22nd Yeongyang-gun Mayor's Cup Table Tennis Tournament. About 100 people, including County Governor O Do-chang, provincial and county council members, and the president of the Yeongyang-gun Sports Council, gathered to pledge their commitment to attracting the pumped-storage power plant.
If the pumped-storage power plant is established, Yeongyang-gun will see the injection of 2 trillion KRW in national construction costs for a facility with a capacity of 1000 MW, boosting the local economy. Additionally, 50 billion KRW for regional development projects and 1.4 billion KRW annually in local tax revenue can be secured. Various sectors of society earnestly hope for the attraction of the pumped-storage power plant as the last hope for Yeongyang-gun, which is classified as a region at risk of population extinction.
At the event, County Governor O Do-chang said, “I am pleased to host the 22nd Yeongyang-gun Mayor's Cup Table Tennis Tournament, and I hope that the passion of Yeongyang's table tennis players, who achieved good results at the recent Provincial Sports Festival, will contribute to the attraction of the pumped-storage power plant, a long-standing project of Yeongyang-gun.”

Kim Mu-yeon, president of the Yeongyang-gun Table Tennis Association, which organized the event, said, “Attracting the pumped-storage power plant in our region is not a choice but a matter of survival. Therefore, the local table tennis players will unite and do their best to ensure that the pumped-storage power plant is attracted to Yeongyang-gun.”
