Pulmuone Spreads Authentic Italian Cuisine with 'Artisan'
Pulmuone is spreading authentic Italian pasta gourmet culture in the domestic market by launching the sub-brand ‘Artisan,’ jointly developed with the global pasta brand Barilla.
Pulmuone, which has consistently maintained the No. 1 market share in the domestic refrigerated noodle market, has formed a strategic partnership with Barilla based on the shared value of ‘using only good ingredients to make healthy food.’ Since July 2019, Pulmuone has exclusively imported and sold Barilla pasta noodles and sauces, and starting this year, it plans to actively launch products under the new brand to promote the taste of pasta that inherits authentic Italian gourmet traditions.
Pulmuone gave the sub-brand Artisan the meaning of inheriting and delivering authentic Italian gourmet culture. The Artisan pasta products were launched with the purpose of allowing consumers to easily enjoy Italian-style pasta at home based on traditional Italian recipes and cooking methods. Pulmuone conducted numerous consumer tests and recipe developments with Barilla for about a year. Italian local chefs researched new recipes for Korean consumers, putting great effort into creating flavors suitable for Korean tastes while not deviating from the framework of authentic pasta.

The first products of Artisan include three types of pasta that reflect the characteristics of various Italian regions: ‘Meat Ragu,’ ‘Ricotta Rose,’ and ‘Mushroom Cream.’ The Neapolitan-style ‘Meat Ragu Pasta’ maximizes flavor by adding umami with tender meat and onions caramelized until golden brown to bring out sweetness. The Sicilian-style ‘Ricotta Rose Pasta’ emphasizes creaminess by adding fresh tomato, fresh ricotta cheese, and fresh cream. The Piedmont-style ‘Mushroom Cream Pasta’ features a rich harmony of truffle oil and the deep aroma of mushrooms combined with cream, creating an exquisite blend of noodles and sauce.
