Sangmin Lee: "Jaemyung Lee's Only Way for Infinite Responsibility Is Resignation... Rhetoric Will Only Invite Trouble"
"Polls Are Inflated"
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said he would "take unlimited responsibility" regarding the resignation of Innovation Committee Chair Lee Rae-kyung. However, Lee Sang-min, a non-Lee faction member of the Democratic Party, raised his voice, saying, "The only way to take unlimited responsibility is to resign from the leadership position."
On the 8th, Lee said on BBS's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal,' "If such a serious mistake has been made and the leader just utters a political rhetoric like 'I will take unlimited responsibility for the results,' it will only invite greater trouble," he said.

Lee Sang-min said, "Lee Jae-myung should courageously take responsibility for all of this and temporarily step down to focus on clearing his own judicial suspicions from before. Doing so would be a good opportunity to remove various controversies surrounding the party in the eyes of the public and party members."
However, the pro-Lee faction argues that the narrative of "everything leads to Lee Jae-myung's resignation" is inappropriate. In response, Lee Sang-min said, "Lee stepping down would be the first step toward innovation. Since Lee embodies the current turmoil, party corruption, and various problems, only by stepping back and resigning can the party eliminate its corruption and take the first step toward innovation."
Regarding the fact that the Democratic Party's approval ratings are higher than those of the People Power Party in various polls, he said, "There is some bubble and inflation in those numbers. When we meet the public on the ground, of course, there are passionate supporters of Lee, but there is also widespread strong resentment against Lee and the Democratic Party."
On the reorganization of the Innovation Committee, he said, "Will it work? It has been a mess from the start, and it has become clear that the person Lee appointed as Innovation Committee Chair is biased toward Lee. Since Lee's true intentions have been revealed, it is difficult to gain trust, and no matter who Lee appoints as Innovation Committee Chair, the chaotic appointment process has made things considerably difficult."

When asked by the host what would happen if Lee does not step down until the end, Lee Sang-min said, "The longer Lee holds on, the more the blind followers around him become extreme, and the party will fall into an uncontrollable crisis and turmoil. To prevent discord and the rumored party split, and for party unity, Lee's resignation must come quickly."
