Yangcheon-gu Launches ‘Youth Challenge Project’… Up to 2 Million KRW Support
Recruiting 5 Teams by June 26 on Themes of Youth Spaces, Community Activation, and Content Discovery
Open to Groups of 3 or More Youth Residing or Active in Yangcheon-gu
Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it is promoting the ‘2023 Yangcheon Youth Challenge Project,’ which supports fresh and diverse ideas from youth to contribute to local community development and the formation of healthy youth communities, and is recruiting 5 teams to participate by June 26.
The ‘Yangcheon Youth Challenge Project’ is a program that discovers necessary local public agendas from the youth perspective and provides opportunities to realize ideas. Since its launch in 2019, 18 organizations and over 90 youth have participated. Last year, three projects were selected and supported: ‘Youth Bibliotherapy Program,’ ‘Creative Performance for Emerging Artists in Yangcheon-gu,’ and ‘Youth’s Joyful Tomorrow.’
This year’s call for proposals focuses on four themes: ▲ Activation of youth spaces and communities ▲ Discovery of cultural content to revitalize the region ▲ Activities to build social networks among youth ▲ Other innovative youth ideas to resolve local public issues.
Applicants must be groups or organizations composed of three or more youth aged 19 to 39 who reside or are active in Yangcheon-gu. The district plans to select 5 teams this year and provide up to 2 million KRW in operating expenses per team.
The application deadline is June 26. Those interested should refer to the notice on the district office website and submit the required documents via email to the person in charge. The district will conduct a first round of document screening and a second round of interviews, and notify the final selection results individually in July.
