Seongnam City Conducts Comprehensive Survey of 'Accessibility Facilities for Disabled' in 4,260 Buildings
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is launching a comprehensive survey of facilities for the disabled.
Seongnam City announced on the 7th that it will conduct a full survey of 4,260 buildings within the city from this month until September to ensure that people with disabilities can use convenience facilities safely and conveniently.
The survey targets public buildings such as administrative welfare centers, post offices, public health centers, public libraries, and national and local government offices, as well as facilities above a certain scale where new construction or major facility changes have been made according to the "Act on Convenience Promotion for People with Disabilities, etc."
The survey items include 120 categories such as access routes to main entrances, elimination of height differences at main entrances, stairs, elevators, restrooms, bathrooms, and braille blocks.
This survey is part of a survey conducted every five years to secure basic data for policies to promote convenience facilities.
Seongnam City will use the survey results as basic data for establishing the 6th Five-Year Plan for Convenience Promotion.
