Silla University and Korean Private Professors Union Sign Collective Agreement
Shilla University and the Korean Private University Professors' Labor Union (Sagyojo) have signed a collective agreement to overcome the crisis faced by regional universities and to establish a future-oriented labor-management relationship.
This agreement was made to overcome the university's crisis and to develop a future-oriented labor-management relationship with one heart and one mind.
The signing ceremony took place on the 1st at the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the Shilla University Headquarters, attended by six university negotiation committee members including President Heo Nam-sik and Vice President Noh Young-wook, as well as three Sagyojo negotiation committee members including Branch Chief Jo Myung-je.

View original imageThis agreement is the first collective agreement concluded between Shilla University and Sagyojo since the amendment of the "Act on the Establishment and Operation of Teachers' Labor Unions" in June 2020, which provided a legal basis for university faculty unions.
Vice President Noh Young-wook said, "It is meaningful that the collective agreement was signed by making concessions step by step with one heart and one mind to overcome the crisis of regional universities," and added, "We expect that future-oriented cooperation between labor and management will continue to overcome the crisis."

This collective negotiation began with an initial meeting in September 2022 and reached a final agreement after seven negotiation sessions between Shilla University and Sagyojo.
