Busan City promoted 'Busan Excellent Food' to domestic and international visitors at the '2023 Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition' held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do from May 30 to June 2.
The 2023 Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition is an annual event held to support the export and domestic market development of domestic food industry companies and to share trends and innovation information in the rapidly changing global food industry.
The city utilized this event to promote Busan Excellent Food through various methods such as operating the Busan Excellent Food Promotion Hall, supporting the installation of food sales and promotion booths for certified Busan Excellent Food companies, and supporting live commerce operations, thereby providing opportunities to expand distribution channels and export routes for these foods.
In particular, the Busan Excellent Food Promotion Hall was established for the first time this year, not only promoting Busan Excellent Food (16 companies, 43 items) but also supporting booths for certified companies, as well as conducting performance consultations with participating companies, marketing data analysis, and monitoring.
The number of certified Busan Excellent Food companies supported by the city for food sales and promotion booth installation totaled 8 companies (17 items), a significant increase compared to 3 companies last year, attracting much interest from domestic and international buyers along with the promotion hall.
Participating companies in the event included Namgwang Food (seasoned seaweed), Daekyung F&B (pollack roe), Deokhwa Food (pollack roe), Babijoa (processed rice), Bukwang & Haesong (mackerel), Seungin Food (sesame oil and perilla oil), and K&Biz (glutinous barley rice cake).
