Busan Office of Education Partners with Parents to Create Safe Routes to and from School
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has joined hands with parent organizations to ensure the safety of students' commuting routes.
On the morning of the 2nd at 8:20 AM, Superintendent Ha Yun-su of Busan Education and representatives from parent organizations, including the president of the School Parent Association Federation and the president of the Geoje Elementary School Green Mothers' Association, held a "Campaign to Strengthen Collaboration with Parent Organizations for Commuting Safety" at Geoje Elementary School in Yeonje-gu.
This campaign was proposed by Superintendent Ha to actively engage parents, who are education consumers, in improving students' commuting conditions.

View original imageOn that day, Superintendent Ha and participants thoroughly inspected potential hazards along the commuting routes around Geoje Elementary School. They also agreed on measures to ensure safety, such as restricting large construction vehicle traffic due to school reconstruction work and deploying traffic guidance personnel.
In particular, Superintendent Ha urged parent organizations to actively participate in the temporary emergency deployment of 267 commuting safety guards to 112 schools with hazardous commuting routes starting in June.
Following this, they conducted campaign activities targeting vehicle drivers and students to create safer commuting routes, including "Guidance on the Enforcement of the Revised Road Traffic Act," "Compliance with Vehicle Speed Limits in School Zones," and "Prohibition of Illegal Parking."

Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "To create safe commuting routes where our children can travel with peace of mind, the interest and participation of parents and local residents are urgently needed. Our education office will do its utmost to improve students' commuting environments through cooperation with related organizations and parent groups."
