Gwangju Veterans Affairs Office Joint Commemorative Event with Heads of 37 Veterans Organizations in Honam Region
The Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office (Director Jeong Hongsik) announced on the 1st that it held a joint commemorative event inviting the heads of 37 veterans organizations in the Honam region.
This event was held to mark the promotion of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the 70th anniversary of the armistice.
In addition to the joint visit to the National Cemetery, paper airplanes carrying commemorative messages for the promotion of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the 70th anniversary of the armistice were flown in front of the Hyeonchungmun Gate, and a Taegeukgi flag planting ceremony was held at the graves of the patriotic martyrs.

Jeong Hongsik, Director of the Gwangju Veterans Affairs Office, said, “Taking the promotion of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs as an opportunity, we will do our best to widely spread the culture of veterans affairs and realize first-class veterans affairs for which the nation takes full responsibility.” He added, “Starting with this joint visit, we will ensure that the heads of veterans organizations can tour and pay respects at the National Cemetery, the May 18th Cemetery, and other sites.”
