Seongnam City to Conduct Outdoor Advertising Safety Inspections Until the 7th of This Month
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct safety inspections of outdoor advertisements by the 7th to prepare for safety accidents such as signboard damage and falls caused by wind and flood disasters.
Since the 25th of last month, Seongnam City has deployed eight teams consisting of 31 public and private joint inspection members, including officials from Seongnam City and the Sujeong, Jungwon, and Bundang district offices, members of the Seongnam Saemaeul Association, and the Seongnam branch of the Gyeonggi Outdoor Advertising Association.
They will inspect areas with high foot traffic such as Moran Station and Seohyeon Station to check for advertisements that are old, cracked, deformed, or corroded and at risk of falling due to strong winds.
Signs and boards that obstruct pedestrian and vehicle traffic are also subject to inspection.
Owners of the relevant advertisements will be advised to voluntarily repair or remove them, and if safety measures are not taken within a week, the city will directly repair or remove them by its authority.
