Launched for the first time this year, the ‘Art-Technology Matching’ project provides related services in the form of vouchers to artists who want to challenge technology-integrated artistic activities. It supports various technology-integrated art activities where artists and science and technology meet to pursue artistic creativity and expanded expression in order to pioneer new horizons of artistic creation.

Previously, the Arts Council conducted a public recruitment of companies providing technology, venues, and equipment services that can be applied to art, and on the 11th selected a total of 50 services (38 technologies, 7 venues, 5 equipment) offered by 37 companies.

This briefing session was organized to inform about the background of the project, its distinctions from existing creative support projects, and to introduce the selected technology services ahead of the public recruitment for artists and groups wishing to participate in the matching project.

A total of 31 companies set up booths to provide consultation on matching services, and 28 companies introduced their technology services. The briefing session was also broadcast live on YouTube.

The briefing session recorded over 200 on-site participants and more than 2,000 online views. According to a survey of participants, 96% of responding artists expressed their intention to participate in the ‘Art-Technology Matching’ project, confirming the high interest from the artistic community in this project.

Jung Byung-guk, Chairman of the Arts Council, who attended the briefing, said, “There are no limits to the realm of artistic creation. As technology changes and develops, the creative horizons of artists also expand accordingly,” and added, “The Arts Council will generously support artists to infinitely expand their creative passion by integrating it with new technologies.”

Applications for artists and groups to participate in the project will be accepted through the National Culture and Arts Support System (NCAS) until 5:59 PM on June 13. Detailed information can be found on the Arko Data Lab website.
