New COVID-19 Cases at 24,411... Approximately 1,500 More Than Last Week
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 31st that there were 24,411 new confirmed COVID-19 cases (cumulative total of 31,703,511 cases).
The number of new cases on this day is 1,882 more than the previous day (13,529 cases), when testing decreased due to the holiday. Compared to a week ago on the 24th (22,952 cases), it decreased by 1,459 cases.
Among the new confirmed cases, 48 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized is 169, which is 7 fewer than the previous day.
The number of new COVID-19 deaths is 17, bringing the cumulative total to 34,784 (fatality rate 0.11%).

Meanwhile, starting next month, when the COVID-19 crisis alert level is lowered from 'Severe' to 'Caution,' the mandatory 7-day quarantine for confirmed cases will change to a recommended 5-day quarantine. Wearing masks will no longer be required even in clinics and pharmacies.
