SKB Operates Special Pavilion at 'Seoul International Environmental Film Festival'... ESG Practice
SK Broadband announced on the 31st that, as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management practice, it will operate a special B tv section where major works from the ‘20th Seoul International Environmental Film Festival’ can be viewed for free.
Marking its 20th anniversary this year, the Seoul International Environmental Film Festival is Asia’s largest and one of the world’s top three environmental film festivals, held under the theme ‘Ready, Climate, Action’ from June 1 to 7. It conveys the message that the shared recognition of the climate crisis situation calls for immediate climate action. SK Broadband has sponsored the Seoul International Environmental Film Festival for three consecutive years, creating a space for empathy where customers and the media jointly consider solutions to environmental issues.
The works featured in the special section include 44 highly acclaimed films invited to the competition category of the Seoul International Environmental Film Festival, such as ‘Nuclear Wanderers,’ ‘Zero Waste,’ and ‘Carbon; The Life of Coal.’ These films will be exclusively screened for free by IPTV providers during the festival period. Notably, the lineup includes works from countries rarely accessible in Korea, such as T?rkiye, Malta, Cambodia, and India, and the same service is available on mobile B tv.
To encourage active interest and participation from B tv customers, SK Broadband will also conduct online and offline promotions. Customers who watch films in the special section will receive points and discount coupons usable for purchasing Video on Demand (VOD). Watching at least one film grants 500 points, and watching five or more films grants a 3,300 KRW discount coupon for ‘OCEAN,’ the country’s largest monthly subscription service offering the most films. Additionally, among customers who watch ten or more films, 20 will be selected by lottery to receive 200,000 points and Seoul International Environmental Film Festival merchandise.
