"Paid 4.5 Million Won Including Interest for Alcohol Bills" - 20s Sentenced to Prison for Unstoppable School Violence Habit
A man in his 20s who threatened a schoolmate and extorted several million won was sentenced to prison.
On the 30th, the 11th Criminal Division of Daegu District Court (Chief Judge Lee Jong-gil) sentenced A (20) to 3 years and 9 months in prison on charges of robbery and injury.
A is accused of assaulting B on October 10 last year and extorting 3 million won. He demanded repayment of 4.5 million won, including interest, claiming that he had paid 1.5 million won on B's behalf for drinks.
Also, on the 15th of the same month, he attempted to extort 3 million won from C, a middle school classmate, using a similar method, saying, "Since B could not repay 1.5 million won of the 4.5 million won for drinks, pay it instead." However, C escaped by getting out of the car, so the attempt failed.
It was investigated that A had previously gone to a club with B and C, paid 300,000 won for their drinks, and then tried to forcibly extort money by grossly inflating the drink bill.
A reportedly exploited the fact that B and C had been intimidated by him since their school days and had either been extorted or lent him money.

The court stated the sentencing rationale: "The defendant committed robbery and injury while under probation for other crimes, and in the past, he was referred to juvenile protection for multiple cases involving assault, injury, and coercion. He has shown a disregard for the law, and if not severely punished, there is a risk of producing more innocent victims."
