Boseong-gun Operates Experience Booths to Prevent Youth Smoking and Drinking

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate a 'Smoking and Drinking Prevention Experience Booth' for elementary, middle, and high school students and faculty members at Boseong Dahyang Gymnasium from June 1 to 2.
The 'Smoking and Drinking Prevention Experience Booth' will be operated in connection with the '2023 AI Career and Job Experience Exhibition' hosted by the Jeollanam-do Boseong Office of Education in celebration of the '36th World No Tobacco Day.'
This experience activity will include smoking ring toss, lung capacity measurement, drinking goggles experience, and smoking cessation pledge.
In particular, it is expected to be effective in spreading awareness of smoking cessation by guiding students who wish to quit smoking to register for the smoking cessation clinic and providing smoking cessation support services together.
A Boseong-gun official said, "We will continue to strive to protect youth from the harms of smoking, secondhand smoke, and drinking, and to enable them to learn in a pleasant educational environment."
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun is conducting 'Smoking and Drinking Prevention Education' to prevent youth from starting smoking and to protect them from the harms of drinking, and operates a 'Hope Smoking Cessation Class' for smoking students to help youth quit smoking early.
Additionally, the county operates a public health center smoking cessation clinic for all smokers and supports smoking cessation treatment through the National Health Insurance Service's smoking cessation treatment support project.
