Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Su-hee Takes Direct Charge of Flood Damage Prevention
Lee Suhee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, Visits Integrated Flood Barrier Installation Site
Lee Suhee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, visited the site of the integrated flood barrier installation on the 25th to prevent flood damage ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.
The integrated flood barrier being installed at the site is a special security window developed independently by the district.
It is the first of its kind nationwide, and a patent application has already been filed.
Combining the functions of a flood barrier and a security window, it blocks external intrusion under normal circumstances, and during flooding, it has a locking mechanism inside the house that can be opened to exit outside.

Mayor Lee Suhee, who visited the site, said, “Since it can be installed as an integrated unit, installation costs can be reduced by 30-40%, and construction time can also be saved. Given the significant flood damage in Seoul last year, we will do our best to install it in as many households as possible before the rainy season to prevent flood damage.”
