Hapcheon-gun Holds Evaluation Meeting for Garlic Clove Seedling Distribution Project
6.4ha Area Jua Sowing, 50t Production Target
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province held an evaluation meeting for the garlic seedling supply project on the 25th at the Eastern Garlic Seedling Complex in Hapcheon-gun (located in Busuri, Jeokjung-myeon).
The evaluation meeting was attended by about 50 people, including County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol, the county council chairman, council members, No Tae-yoon, chairman of the Dongbu Nonghyup, Song Jeong-ho, chairman of the Hapcheonho Nonghyup, and garlic farmers.
An on-site evaluation meeting is being held for the garlic clove seed distribution project in Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam.
View original imageHapcheon-gun, in cooperation with producer organizations (Hapcheon-gun Garlic Seedling Cultivation Research Association, Eastern Garlic Seedling Complex) and local agricultural cooperatives (Hapcheon Dongbu Nonghyup, Hapcheonho Nonghyup), has supplied a total of 176 tons of high-quality garlic seedling seeds from 2016 to 2022.
This amount is sufficient for sowing over 190 hectares. This year, seedlings were sown on an area of 6.4 hectares, with a production target of 50 tons.
An official from the County Agricultural Technology Center stated, “Garlic seedling seeds are known to improve productivity by about 20 to 40% compared to regular seeds, and this project helps replace imported garlic seedling seeds. Applications for 2023 garlic seedling seeds will be accepted through the offices of each eup and myeon in Hapcheon-gun until May 31.”
