New COVID-19 Cases at 19,080... Decrease of About 2,700 Compared to Last Week
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 25th that there were 19,080 new confirmed COVID-19 cases (cumulative total of 31,611,509).
The number of new cases decreased by 3,881 from the previous day (22,961). Compared to a week ago on the 18th (21,793), it decreased by 2,713. The decline compared to the previous week has continued over the past seven days up to this date.
Among the new confirmed cases, 24 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized increased by 6 to 173 compared to the previous day.
The number of new COVID-19 deaths was 17, bringing the cumulative total to 34,719 (fatality rate 0.11%).

Meanwhile, starting next month, when the COVID-19 crisis alert level is lowered from 'Severe' to 'Caution,' the mandatory 7-day isolation for confirmed cases will change to a recommended 5-day isolation. COVID-19 statistics, which were previously announced excluding Sundays and public holidays, will be reported on a weekly basis.
