Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters Releases 50,000 Aquatic Animals Cultivated in Nuclear Plant Warm Water Discharge
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters held a 'Warm Water Aquaculture Shellfish Release Event' at Wolnae Port in Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, releasing 50,000 shellfish cultivated using the power plant's warm water.
The 'Warm Water Aquaculture Shellfish Release Event' is a fisherman income enhancement project initiated by the Gori Headquarters in 2000 to commemorate Sea Day on May 31 and to increase fishery resources in the waters surrounding the nuclear power plant. To date, a total of 2.89 million shellfish have been released, including 350,000 flounders, 1.67 million red sea breams, 200,000 starry flounders, and 670,000 abalones.
