Daegu City Launches Free Korean Medicine Treatment Program to Overcome Infertility
Call for Applicants for Support Program for Infertile Couples
Participation in a 4-Month Korean Medicine Support Program
Daegu City is launching a project to support 'infertility' through traditional Korean medicine.
Daegu City is publicly recruiting infertile couples and women who wish to give birth by June 2 to participate in a traditional medicine support project aimed at helping healthy pregnancies.
Infertile couples and women registered residents of Daegu City can apply regardless of income or age restrictions. Those who wish to participate should complete the application form and required documents and send them via email to the local public health center or the Daegu City Korean Medicine Association by June 2.
An infertility diagnosis certificate is required among the documents, but those eligible for infertility support from the public health center may omit this.
The final selected participants will be announced at the end of June after a three-week review by the Daegu City Korean Medicine Association. From July, participants will visit designated Korean medicine clinics once a week for four months to take herbal medicine and participate in traditional medicine support programs. All costs will be fully covered, but acupuncture and moxibustion treatments are excluded.
Daegu City was the first in the nation to promote a traditional medicine support project for infertile couples in 2009. Since the project began, a total of 754 couples have participated, and among them, 128 succeeded in becoming pregnant, showing a success rate of 16.9%.
