KOSHA, What Does the New Slogan Mean? ... 'From Workplace Safety to Public Reassurance'
Focus on the Happy Life of the People
The slogan of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) has been changed to a message focused on workplace safety and the happy lives of the people.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor’s Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (President An Jong-ju) announced a new slogan, "From Workplace Safety to National Reassurance," on the 23rd to create safe and healthy workplaces and achieve a happy Great Republic of Korea.
With the announcement of the serious accident reduction roadmap at the end of last year, a new change began to reduce industrial accidents through establishing a self-regulation prevention system at workplaces and spreading safety awareness through worker participation and cooperation.
KOSHA planned the new slogan to match the government’s new safety and health paradigm, aiming to spread a safety culture that involves labor and management and resonates with the public.
The new slogan was developed to reflect the hearts of the people who wish for workplace safety and a happy Korea, collecting diverse opinions through a public contest that communicated with the public.
Among 2,607 entries submitted to the contest, KOSHA selected the final slogan through internal review and expert advisory meetings based on the main core keywords of the outstanding works.
The new slogan emphasizes the message that Korea can become a happy and healthy society when safe workplaces are secured.
KOSHA introduced that the design related to the logo was composed with an emotional design using intuitive keywords. The combination of the safety helmet, a keyword related to workplace safety, and the smile, a keyword representing national reassurance, symbolizes workplace safety, public reassurance, and happiness.
It also explained that the shape of the safety helmet expresses "safety" and implicitly conveys KOSHA’s mission to contribute to the happy lives of the people by creating healthy workplaces.
The color scheme follows KOSHA’s CI colors and tone & manner, expressing trust and a future-oriented image through blue and safety and driving force through green.
KOSHA plans to utilize the new slogan in various projects such as on-site technical support, safety culture promotion campaigns, and public relations activities.
