Seoul Metro is hosting a storytelling contest titled "Happy Companionship" for citizens, focusing on the experiences of transportation-vulnerable individuals using the subway.
The contest period runs for 50 days, from May 22 to July 10.
Any Seoul Metro customer who has a sincere and touching story related to their subway experience can participate. Only individuals?not groups or teams?may apply, and each person can submit only one entry during the contest period.
Works that are not the applicant’s original creation or that may cause legal disputes cannot be submitted and may be disqualified even after winning.
To apply, download the application form from the official website, write an essay within 1,200 characters, and submit it online by midnight on the deadline.
After two rounds of judging, a total of 11 works will be selected. The grand prize winner will receive 500,000 KRW, with total prize money amounting to 2.2 million KRW.
The results will be posted on the official website in August following the judging schedule, and winners will be notified individually. Selected works will be produced as promotional materials featuring illustrations and stories, displayed on specific illuminated ads within subway stations, and introduced to citizens through the company’s webzine “Gonggam Metro” and YouTube.
