Hanwha Aerospace Unveils Emblem and Uniform Ahead of Nuriho Launch
Creation of Two Space Business Emblems
Hanwha Aerospace unveiled two types of the ‘2023 Nuriho Emblem’ embodying the future vision of its space business, along with uniforms featuring the emblems, on the 22nd. The purpose is to pray for the success of the upcoming third Nuriho launch scheduled for the 24th and to share Hanwha’s spirit of challenge toward the unknown realm of space with the public.
The emblems revealed by Hanwha Aerospace on this day come in two shapes: circular and shield-shaped. The circular emblem symbolizes circulation, emphasizing sustainability through the space business. The Nuriho rocket passing through the center serves as a medium connecting Earth and space, while the shining stars represent researchers and engineers dedicated to South Korea’s space industry.

It visualizes Hanwha Aerospace’s determination to take the lead and challenge the difficult but necessary space industry sector. Alongside the Nuriho, the emblem features the Moon and Mars, future exploration targets, and expresses a heritage sentiment symbolizing the passion and technology of space exploration to be passed on to future generations.
The uniforms featuring the two emblems were created in collaboration with designer Song Ja-in, who served as the costume director for the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. Based on a silver color symbolizing shining stars, the design applied sleek and dynamic shapes of ascending launch vehicles to the collars, pockets, and zippers. Practicality was also considered, such as cutting the back to ensure mobility and breathability for employees who actually wear the uniforms.
Hanwha Aerospace plans to utilize the emblems and uniforms at major space business events, including the site of the third Nuriho launch.
