Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Attends ‘Everyone Play Freely Playground Vision Proclamation Ceremony’
‘Nowon District Our Neighborhood Play Environment Survey Team’ to Conduct Comprehensive Diagnosis of Play Environments in Local Children's Parks Until July
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Seoul, attended the ‘Everyone Play Freely Playground Vision Proclamation Ceremony’ held at 10 a.m. on the 20th in the large auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Nowon District Office in Seoul.
The ‘Everyone Play Freely Playground’ project aims to create awareness, neighborhood atmosphere, and appropriate play spaces so that any child living in Nowon District can play together without restrictions such as disabilities or age.
At the vision proclamation ceremony attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, National Assembly member Woo Won-shik, district council members, the president of Save the Children, and about 150 children, the event proceeded with the proclamation of the Everyone Play Freely Playground vision, reading of the declaration, a lecture on the necessity of barrier-free integrated play environments by Professor Lee Myung-joo of Myongji University’s Department of Architecture, and the appointment ceremony and preliminary training of the Our Neighborhood Play Environment Survey Team.
Going forward, a total of 200 members of the ‘Nowon District Our Neighborhood Play Environment Survey Team,’ composed of children with and without disabilities and adults, will conduct a comprehensive diagnosis of the play environments in local children’s parks until July. Based on the results, the district plans to establish and implement a playground improvement plan.
