On the 20th, ahead of Buddha's Birthday, a large-scale lantern parade expected to attract 50,000 participants will be held in downtown Seoul for the first time in four years.
On the 27th, ahead of Buddha's Birthday (May 8) in the Buddhist calendar year 2566, devotees are making lanterns to be used in the lantern parade at Jogyesa Temple in Jongno-gu, Seoul. View original imageThe Lantern Festival Preservation Committee will hold a lantern parade starting at 7 PM from Dongdaemun in Seoul, moving through the Jonggak Station intersection on Subway Line 1, and proceeding to Jogyesa Temple.
Accordingly, the section will be fully closed to traffic in both directions from 1 PM on the 20th until 3 AM on the 21st.

On the 21st, a small-scale lantern play will take place from 9 PM, moving from Jogyesa Temple to Insadong, and Ujeongguk-ro, which passes in front of Jogyesa Temple, will be closed to traffic from 9 AM to 12 PM that day.
