Japanese Government Official Announcement: "Zelensky to Attend G7 Summit... Individual Meeting with Kishida"
The Japanese government officially announced on the 20th that Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, will attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit being held in Hiroshima in person.
According to Japan's NHK on the same day, the Japanese government announced that President Zelensky will attend a meeting with G7 leaders on the 21st to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
This is the first time President Zelensky has visited Asia since Russia invaded Ukraine in February last year.
In addition to the G7 summit schedule, President Zelensky is expected to hold individual meetings with various leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
The New York Times (NYT) reported that a summit meeting between President Zelensky and President Biden is confirmed. The Japanese government stated that President Zelensky will have a separate meeting with Prime Minister Kishida.

Meanwhile, President Zelensky, who had visited Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to attend the Arab League (AL) summit, is scheduled to depart Jeddah Airport at dawn on a French government aircraft and arrive at Hiroshima Airport in Japan in the afternoon.
