Muan Police Holds Meeting with Muan-gun Autonomous Crime Prevention Union
Seeking Cooperation Measures Following the Enforcement of the Autonomous Crime Prevention Corps Act
The Muan Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief Kim Jeong-wan) recently held a meeting with the Muan-gun Autonomous Crime Prevention Association to promote community policing.
According to Muan Police on the 19th, the meeting was organized to help understand the key provisions of the Autonomous Crime Prevention Association Act, which came into effect on the 27th of last month, and to explore cooperation measures.

During the meeting, explanations of the key provisions of the law, collection of opinions, and discussions on cooperation measures took place. Considering that the law is still in its early stages of implementation, it was agreed to share information regularly to resolve operational difficulties.
The "Act on the Establishment and Operation of Autonomous Crime Prevention Associations" was enacted in 2022 to promote the activities of autonomous crime prevention associations and contribute to community safety through maintaining public order, crime prevention, and youth guidance. It has been in effect since the 27th of last month.
Kim Jeong-wan, Chief of Muan Police Station, stated, "Through systematic management according to the law and support necessary for activities, we will do our best to instill pride and responsibility in the autonomous crime prevention associations and secure public safety in the community, including crime prevention."
