Huons Selected for Government Project to Develop 'Celery Seed Extract' Dietary Supplement Ingredient
Huons' research on developing health functional food materials using celery seed extract has been selected as a government project.
Huons announced on the 19th that the 'Body Fat Reduction and Muscle Strength Improvement Celery Seed Project (HUN2-506),' conducted by the Natural Products Research Laboratory at the Central Research Center, has been selected as a new project under the 'Next-Generation Promising Seed Technology Commercialization Fast-Track Project' by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The selected project, led by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Kyungpook National University and jointly researched with Huons, is significant as it recognizes the research value, commercialization necessity, and potential of celery seed extract, according to the company. The project is expected to receive a total research fund of 1.84 billion KRW over a maximum of four years (Phase 1: 2 years + Phase 2: 2 years).
Through this project, Huons aims to verify the effects of celery seed extract on body fat reduction and muscle strength improvement through human application trials in collaboration with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Kyungpook National University by March 2027 (including up to Phase 2). Additionally, by standardizing and evaluating safety, they plan to develop it as an individually recognized dual-functional health functional food material to introduce next-generation health functional foods that help ▲reduce body fat ▲improve muscle strength.
