View original imageThe "2023 Asia Future Enterprise Forum," held under the theme "The Future of Our Companies Led by Artificial Intelligence (AI)," served as a communication platform between large corporations and startups. The Asia Future Enterprise Forum is an event hosted annually by Asia Economy, and this year marked its 11th edition. Interest in AI has been rising recently with the emergence of ChatGPT. Lectures and discussions covering the AI market ecosystem, companies' current technological status, and future technology prospects drew enthusiastic responses from about 200 attendees. AI experts from large corporations such as Samsung, LG, Naver, and Kakao, as well as startups, engaged in heated debates about the direction companies should take.
Experts unanimously stated that we must create our own competitive AI industry ecosystem. Citing Google's "app toll hike" as an example, they emphasized the need to enhance super-large AI technological capabilities before being led by global big tech companies. They also appealed for government support. To expand the domestic AI market size, government support measures are necessary. They argued that unreasonable regulations, like "sandbags" tied to the ankles, which hinder running at the same pace as global big tech, must be eliminated.
