Sarangui Sonkirlpyogihoe is the name of hy's in-house volunteer group. Established in 1975, it celebrated its 48th anniversary this year. It collects a portion of the salaries of all employees to use for social contribution activities. The cumulative support amount has reached 11 billion KRW.
The support targets have steadily increased. It helps vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots such as elderly living alone, children suffering from food insecurity, and single-parent families. In addition to general support activities, it also provides job opportunities for economic independence. As of April, about 10,000 vulnerable people were supported by 16 committees nationwide.
