Jeju Fire Station Conducts Fire Drill Using Fire Equipment Suction Hose
Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Jeju Fire Station (Chief Yang In-seok) announced on the 17th that it conducted a firefighting training using suction hoses of firefighting equipment at ports and harbors in preparation for ship fires, amid the active cruise ship travel on the 16th.
The firefighting training conducted that day aimed at rapid suppression by simultaneously absorbing seawater and spraying water using pumps and chemical vehicles' suction hoses in preparation for ship fires at various ports and harbors in the province.
The main contents included fire suppression response techniques using suction hoses, confirmation of firefighting vehicle placement locations at ports and harbors, and methods to familiarize suppression personnel with the use of other firefighting equipment.
Chief Yang In-seok said, “We will do our best to respond more quickly to fires occurring at sea to prevent damage to fishermen and passengers.”
