The National Convenience Store Franchise Association stated on the 16th, "Next year's minimum wage level should be reduced by more than 10%, not increased," and added, "The weekly holiday allowance should be abolished, and minimum wages should be applied differently by region and industry."

In a statement released that day, the association said, "The union's claim of 12,000 won per hour becomes 15,690 won when including the weekly holiday allowance and the four major insurances," and asked, "How long must we alone bear the damage caused by the minimum wage system?"

The association pointed out, "We have had to fully bear the damage caused by the rapid minimum wage increases over the past five years," and emphasized, "The minimum wage system decided by public interest commissioners who have lost fairness must be improved."
