The 'investment chill' for startups continues into the second quarter.
The public-private joint network Startup Alliance released the 'April 2023 Startup Investment Report' on the 13th. The total number of investments was 90, with an investment amount of 263.9 billion KRW. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a 78% decrease. Compared to March (342.7 billion KRW), it decreased by 23%. This is the second lowest amount this year, following January (257.9 billion KRW).
Breaking down by investment amount, there were 2 investments over 30 billion KRW, 6 investments over 10 billion KRW, 30 investments over 1 billion KRW, and 52 investments under 1 billion KRW or undisclosed. ProgreenTech attracted the largest amount, raising 36.2 billion KRW.
By sector, the 'Healthcare' field saw the most active investments. The total investment amount in this sector was 67.6 billion KRW, with 14 investment deals. Notable investments included Nudge Healthcare and Coreline Soft (10.6 billion KRW), CareDoc (9 billion KRW), G2E (8.5 billion KRW), and Rapydine (7.8 billion KRW), each securing investments around the 30 billion KRW scale.
