Gangnam Jevisco plans to establish a joint venture called 'KS Advanced Materials' based on its dispersion and mass production technologies and Shina T&C's carbon nanotube (CNT) and graphene dispersion technologies. They also plan to build a dedicated production plant for secondary battery conductive materials and electrode additives within Gangnam Jevisco's Haman factory located in Haman, Gyeongnam.
The conductive materials production plant, scheduled for completion by the end of this year, will secure an annual production capacity of 2,000 tons in the first phase, with plans to increase production capacity to 6,000 tons annually through additional facility investments.
The newly established joint venture will mass-produce cathode multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) slurry for secondary batteries, anode thin-walled carbon nanotube (TWCNT) and single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) slurries, and SWCNT coating solutions for displays. To secure stable supply capabilities for the rapidly growing electric vehicle battery market, they have also secured a site for constructing a second plant within the Haman factory.
