Police Summon Construction Union Official for Investigation in 'Minjung Party Illegal Donations' Case
The Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the morning of the 15th that they summoned Moon Mo, the secretary-general of the Seoul-Gyeonggi Northern Construction Branch of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Construction Union, for questioning as a suspect.
The police questioned Moon, who is suspected of violating the Political Funds Act, about whether he received political donations from union members.
According to the police, officials of the Construction Union are suspected of sending approximately 65 million won in donations to the then Minjung Party (currently the Progressive Party) through union members ahead of the 21st National Assembly election in December 2019.

In March, the police also conducted searches at 10 locations, including offices under the Construction Union, and secured related materials such as accounting books.
