Jangseong-gun Hwangryonggang 'Premium Night View' Expected to Be a Hit Again This Year
Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do recently completed the installation of nighttime lighting on the Hwangryonggang Cultural Bridge. The Hwangryonggang River in Jangseong, where 10 billion spring flowers bloom, has been enhanced to be even more beautiful at night.
According to the county on the 14th, the Cultural Bridge, completed in 2006, is 182.5 meters long and 21 meters wide, and is widely used by many residents.
It connects the downtown area of Jangseong-eup with major cultural and sports facilities across the Hwangryonggang River, including the Culture and Arts Center, Hong Gil-dong Gymnasium, County Central Library, and Yellow City Stadium.
It is also a route often taken when visiting UNESCO World Heritage site Pilamsuwon Confucian Academy, Hong Gil-dong Theme Park, and Chukryeongsan Mountain.
Jangseong-gun has installed media lighting on the Cultural Bridge, which is actively used by residents, to provide new attractions.
In the evening, about 600 lights installed on the railings, sides, and piers are illuminated in seven colors.
The media lighting is especially spectacular. Images such as flowers, fireworks, hearts, stars, and explosions change dynamically over time, captivating viewers.
Since the area experiences frequent vehicle traffic, Jangseong-gun has thoroughly ensured the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
The lighting angles were carefully calculated to prevent glare, and brightness was adjusted considering the surrounding environment to reduce visual discomfort.
The system is designed to turn on at sunset and automatically turn off at 11 p.m., preventing unnecessary electricity consumption.
Along with the Cultural Bridge, the lighting facilities near Yongjakgyo Bridge are also interesting. The paths, floor lights, tree lights, and flower sculptures connected all around the Yongjakgyo Bridge provide visual enjoyment.
It is expected to attract many visitors along with the Flower Tunnel nighttime lighting, which was very popular at last October’s Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival.
The Flower Tunnel, composed of the “Gate of Light,” “Four Seasons of Chukryeong,” “Mir’s Library,” and “Wave Gate,” is a garden decorated with lasers, optical fibers, and LED flowers.
In particular, the “Four Seasons of Chukryeong” is well known as a work by world-renowned media artist Lee Lee-nam.
Images of flowers, butterflies, and fish are projected onto sculptures symbolizing Chukryeongsan Mountain, creating an emotional experience.
A county official said, “With the installation of media lighting on the Cultural Bridge and landscaping facilities near Yongjakgyo Bridge, the nighttime scenery of Hwangryonggang has become even more beautiful,” adding, “We expect many visitors during the ‘Jangseong Hwangryonggang Hong Gil-dongmu Flower Road Festival’ starting on the 19th.”
